Product Overview & Application Area
The EPS 200 buffer tank from Schönberg is an energy buffer tank without an integrated heat exchanger with an actual net capacity of 222 liters. It is used as a hydraulic heat storage tank in heating systems and is suitable for system concepts with heating boilers, solid fuel systems, solar thermal systems, or combined heat and power plants.
The tank takes in heating water, stores thermal energy, and thus supports a smoother hydraulic integration of various heat generators. The specific system design depends on the system concept, heat generator, control, and professional planning.
Technology & Equipment
The EPS 200 is designed as a buffer tank without an internal heat exchanger. The tank is made of quality steel S235JRG2, is raw on the inside, and primed on the outside. It is set up on a base ring.
Several charging and discharging connections are available for hydraulic integration. Additionally, sensor and controller connections, a vent connection, and two connections for electric heating cartridges are provided. Heating cartridges are only installed in the designated connection stubs.
Everyday Benefits
The tank supports the intermediate storage of heating energy and helps provide heat in the heating system as needed. Especially in systems with varying heat generation or different consumption times, a buffer tank can usefully support hydraulic separation and system operation.
Thanks to its compact size with a 600 mm diameter without insulation, the EPS 200 is suitable for systems where a smaller buffer tank with practical connection equipment is required.
System Integration & Compatibility
The Schönberg EPS 200 can be integrated into suitable heating, solid fuel, and solar systems. Use in conjunction with combined heat and power plants is also possible if the system concept provides for this.
The storage tank is intended for heating water and is not designed as a domestic hot water tank. For integration, the safety valve, expansion vessel, venting, temperature sensing, and other safety devices must be sized to match the system.

Installation
The storage tank is placed standing on a load-bearing, level, and frost-free surface. During transport, delivery, and installation, the tilting dimension, clearances for insulation and connection work, as well as accessibility for subsequent maintenance must be taken into account.
Hydraulic connection, commissioning, and integration into the safety group are carried out by qualified personnel. All threaded connections must be checked for tightness after installation.
Notes
The type designation EPS 200 does not correspond to the exact storage capacity; the actual net capacity is 222 liters. The storage tank may only be operated within the permissible operating limits.
Electric heating cartridges may only be installed at the designated connections. The storage tank is not intended for use with drinking water as the storage medium.
