Product Overview & Application Area
The SYR DUO DFR 2314 backwash filter DN20 is a compact filter fitting for drinking water installations according to DIN 1988. It is used to filter particles washed into the drinking water and helps protect the house water installation from malfunctions, deposits, and damage caused by foreign matter.
The DN20 version with 3/4-inch connection is suitable for use in house installations as well as for compact installation situations. Thanks to the integrated pressure reducer, the DUO DFR 2314 is particularly useful where, in addition to filtration, pressure regulation of the drinking water installation is also required.
Technology & Equipment
The SYR DUO DFR 2314 is designed as a manual backwash filter with pressure reducer, pressure gauge, and integrated 360° rotatable connection flange. The pressure reducer is preset at the factory to 4 bar and can be individually adjusted in the range from 1.5 to 6 bar.
The filter element works with stainless steel mesh. The lower passage width is 90 µm, the upper passage width is 125 µm. The filter bowl is made of impact-resistant plastic; plastic parts and elastomers that come into contact with water meet KTW requirements.
Everyday Benefits
The manual backwash function facilitates regular filter maintenance and requires no special tools. During backwashing, the water supply with filtered water is maintained, making maintenance particularly practical during ongoing operation.
The rotatable adjustment handle also serves as a maintenance indicator and helps to visibly mark the next backwash date. The compact design and the rotatable connection flange facilitate integration into various installation situations.
System Integration & Compatibility
The backwash filter is used in drinking water installations and, when used centrally, should be installed in a readily accessible location directly behind the water meter assembly. During installation, observe the flow direction indicated on the housing; the main axis of the filter should be aligned vertically.
The DUO DFR 2314 is not intended for private water supply systems. Proper integration should be carried out by a qualified specialist company, especially when pressure adjustment, pressure gauge, and backwash device must be correctly incorporated into the existing drinking water system.
Technical data at a glance
The most important technical data of the SYR DUO DFR 2314 DN20 in the 3/4-inch version.

Installation
Before installation, the pipework should be flushed carefully. The backwash filter is installed in the pipework without stress, observing the direction of flow; the direction of flow is marked on the flange housing.
The filter is aligned without pressure. The pressure gauge must be properly sealed. For central domestic water installations, a easily accessible position directly behind the water meter assembly is intended.
Notes
According to DIN EN 806 Part 5, maintenance by backwashing is required at least every six months. The filter must be protected against frost, direct UV radiation, and solvent-containing vapors.
When cleaning plastic parts, solvent-containing care products must not be used. Strong pressure surges in the downstream installation should be avoided.
